Will you please pray for God to be Glorified, for children to come to know Him, and for all of us (kids & leaders) to be challenged to live a more authentic Christian life? God is real! Do our lives SHOW that?
Please pray that I will be comfortable telling the stories; pray that I will have an assistant every day this week (we are very short handed); and pray that Virginia will be content & resting all morning while I am away from her.
Dano is serving in VBS by staying at home with Virginia & Wesley. If she is at home, she will be napping in her bed and will most likely never miss me. =0) This will enable me to do the Bible time for our church's VBS without a problem. By Wesley staying at home, it will just make getting in & out of VBS that much quicker. He'd just be in nursery anyway.
Each day when VBS is over, I will rush home to nurse Virginia. Then I will return to the church to transform my room. Right now, it is the mountain top with a burning bush. Tuesday it has to be the throne room for Pharoah. Wednesday it has to be an Israelite slave "village" in Egypt complete with houses the children will enter during the passover. Thursday will actually reuse some of Wednesday's stuff, but I will add an empty tomb. Then Friday, our room will be the red sea complete with the miraculous dry land down the middle! So please pray that I will be able to do these conversions quickly so that I will not be at the church all day every day during the week! Creativity is not my strong suite! Thinking outside of the box is hard... I need directions to follow...step by step... I don't have those! Whoever came up with "The Easy VBS" regarding Group was NOT referring to the Bible room!
Pray that our kids would grow in their walk with Christ (Olivia & Derek) and that more seeds would be planted for Emma. If you remember, Emma is a bit hesitent at times to leave me. So please also pray that she would joyfully go with her class tomorrow morning and have fun with them. She has been doing MUCH better in this area... but sometimes, there is still the hesitation.
Also, Dano is planning on working on potty training Wesley. =0) So you might lift both of them up in this endeavor! =0) It sure would be great to only have ONE in diapers. Dano is such an awesome servant leader. Praise the Lord for him while you're praying for all these requests.
I know I've asked you to pray for a lot, but I hope you'll be able to lift them all up now... then as we come to mind this week, you can pray for whatever the Holy Spirit puts on your mind.
Our VBS times are 9 - noon EST. Thank you!
Blessings,
Melinda =0)
