...reporting mission news.  JAARS has recently purchased a Cessna 207 for use at the Cameroon field office in Cameroon, Africa.  The need for the availability of an asset such as this is mainly derived from the inability to get fuel for non-turbine engine aircraft and of course the growing need for aviation services for the translators. This aircraft has the ability to fly longer distances between fuel stops, making more international flights (within Africa) possible.  West and central Africa are home to some 754 language groups who are still without God's Word in their mother tongue (vernacular).  Much work is going on to remedy the void of God's Word to these people groups.

The Cessna 207 will have the current engine replaced with a new Rolls Royce 250 turbine engine that uses Jet-A fuel.  I have been recently tasked with running this aircraft up and preserving the engine. The engine is preserved to protect it from moisture while we at the Waxhaw JAARS branch decide on all the details concerning this major engine modification as well as what needs to be done to outfit the aircraft for use in Cameroon.

Since I began service alongside the Waxhaw JAARS team, I have been involved in many other such projects as this one.  The Waxhaw base here in North Carolina is in many ways a "nerve center" for the overseas' branches.  From regular fuel shipments, FAA paperwork, aircraft/engine modifications, overhaul work, tooling, avionics installations, technical support, training personnel to purchasing and shipping of newly acquired assets, we here at Waxhaw branch are keeping the aviation services overseas up to speed.
