For those of you who have been waiting, I finally posted the LONG version of Virginia's birth story on the All Things Baby blog. http://allthingsbabywhited.blogspot.com/2009/03/virginias-birth-story.html
I've also posted all the full-term kids' birth stories there, too, in case you need some help going to sleep sometime.
The short version of her birth is as follows...
We were at the table about to start dinner (late) at 7:30 p.m. when my water broke. Contractions started soon after... not too hard or too fast, thankfully. The midwives got here in plenty of time. My friend (Mary Ann) who came to take pictures & video got here in plenty of time. The kids were well cared for by Kelly. She finished up dinner with them & got them to bed, then she joined us for the end of the birth. A little after 9 p.m. I was ready to push, and our baby GIRL was born at 9:37 p.m. The cord was loosely around her neck (which they easily slipped off), and there were no complications! I got to pull her out and onto my chest. What a wonderful experience. She "scored" a 10 on both her apgars. She's been doing great ever since! Me too... but I am still a little sore... some days are better than others! What a blessing! All babies are just miracles. God is so gracious!
Thanks for your continued prayers. We're all in love with her. Everyone is healthy. Wesley is always looking for her when he sees me without her or he comes in our room, and says, "Where'd my baby go?" He, Olivia, & Derek always want to kiss her or hold her. Emma is not interested in kissing her, but she wants to hug her or hold her. It is so sweet to see their love for their baby sister!
Blessings,
Melinda =0)
